New word of the day: “frupgrade”

Props to my partner in crime Michael Johnson for coming up with this one over lunch. File it next to Fred Wilson’s freemium.

frupgrade, v. – to upgrade from one free service to another free service.

Imagine you have a simple, free service that folks use. Imagine you’ve also got a higher-end related service for more serious users or power-users – but that’s also free. The process of users going from “simple free service” to “less simple free service” is a ‘frupgrade’.
