My ThinkPad X60s was shipped to me in MA directly from Shanghai China. When I tracked the UPS package, I was impressed with two things illustrated in this tracking report:
First, the package was shipped “UPS Ground” (included in the price) on 03/13 at 1747 and arrived at my home (yes, my garage signs for my packages – it’s a very handy garage) 03/16 at 1021. In case you don’t want to do the math, that’s three days, seventeen hours. Pretty damn impressive for gratis & ground!
Second, and even more interestingly, the tracking report is totally nonchalant about the fact that the item was shipping from abroad. It’s been a while since I’ve had items shipped to me from overseas, and the tracking certainly did not used to be this simple. That tracking report could just as easily have started from Boulder CO as Shanghai CN.
The world is getting smaller every month!
